The purpose of a pre-trip inspection is to ensure that you travel safely and your vehicle remains reliable throughout the entire road trip. It doesn’t matter if you are only going to be on the road for one day or several days. You want to make sure your vehicle can handle the stress of constant operation until you reach your destination. Although, we recommend that you plan plenty of stops throughout the day(s) so you can get out of the automobile and stretch your legs.
We Can Check the Battery
One of the nice things about a pre-trip inspection is you run a lower risk of ending up stranded with a dead battery. We will check the battery to make sure it remains in good condition. If the battery is too old, you may end up with a dead one. If the battery is not holding the recommended charge, we will replace it with a new one so you can count on it.
We Can Check the Brakes
We will also check the brakes because you definitely need them to be working. We will check the brake fluid level and replace the fluid it if is old and dirty. If it just needs to be topped off, we will top it off. We will check the brake pads, calipers, and rotors, as well as the brake hoses. We will make sure your brake system is in excellent condition before you head out on your trip.
We Can Check the Fluids
In addition to the above, we will also check your automobile’s fluids to make sure nothing needs to be changed or topped off. If your vehicle is almost due for an oil change, let us change the oil now so you don’t need to worry about it on your trip. We will also check the other automotive fluids including the transmission oil to ensure it’s in excellent condition.
We Can Check the Tires
Finally, a pre-trip inspection gives us a chance to check the tires. We will do more than air to them if they need it. We will also check the tread depth on each tire and inspect them for uneven tread wear. We will look at the sidewalls to make sure they are not bubbling or cracking.
